Market Street, Poughkeepsie
Outside on Market Street in Poughkeepsie at 11pm on a Friday night, everything is mostly quiet. But, as you drive down the street you can see a line beginning to form in front of Mad Hatters. Cabs are pulling up one after another and tons of people pile out and slowly the line begins to grow. People continue to pile out of cab after cab as slowly the people in the front of the line are let in. On line, people are standing in groups talking as other people who are just arriving walk past them to get to the back of the line. If someone recognizes one of their friends you can see groups stop to talk quickly before getting on the end of the line. Looking down the street it is mostly quite, occasionally you can see someone walking down the street in the distance but other than that the street is quiet and dark.
